ISUnix is the Illinois State University RSO branch of the Unix users' group, Unix Hobbyist, Administrator, and Coders' Club (UHACC). ISUnix is governed under the Executive Board of UHACC, using the UHACC constitution as its governing document, with few exceptions. The following preamble and articles shall replace or point to their corresponding preamble and articles from the UHACC constitution. Any current or future changes to this Constitution that deviate from the main UHACC Constitution shall be made only to satisfy the requirements of RSOs defined by Illinios State University.

Preamble:

This fellowship of individuals united by their interest in Unix-type operating systems shall be known as ISUnix. This registered student organization (RSO) exists primarily for the purposes of promoting and grokking the usage, development and proliferation of Unix and Unix-like operating systems as well as their software and associated culture through meetings, workshops, and other events.

 
Article 1:

Membership :: Membership is open to any ISU student or faculty/staff with an interest in the usage and development of Unix-type operating systems. All individuals who maintain membership in ISUnix are automatically members of UHACC and fall under the requirements of membership within UHACC.

 
Article 2:

Officers :: There shall be one Executive Officer of ISUnix. This officer is appointed by the Executive Board of UHACC, and must be an ISU student.

 
 

ISUnix in itself does not have an Executive Board. All issues regarding ISUnix will be settled by the members and Executive Board of UHACC.

 

Article 3 is not valid for ISUnix.

 

Article 4 is not valid for ISUnix.

 
Article 5:

Duties of the Officer

 
 

Executive Officer :: ISUnix's Executive Officer is responsible for making sure the RSO requirements for the group are met, and that the group is kept in good standing with the Office of Student Life. This Officer is to serve as the Student Liaison for UHACC. The Executive Officer's contact information will be registered with the Office of Student Life and appear on the RSO web page. This Officer will also check the mailbox in the Student Services building regularly in accordance with the RSO agreement. The ISUnix Executive Officer will also be responsible for making sure that all information distributed on ISU's campus in any medium meets the requirements set forth by ISU. This includes getting fliers approved for distribution in residence halls and/or elsewhere on campus.
The ISUnix Executive officer will also be granted additional UHACC Executive Board rights and responsibilities, as defined in the UHACC Constitution, Article 5 ("Other Executive Board Officers").

 
Article 6:

Meetings, Official Business, and the Timeline :: (defined by Article 6 of UHACC Constitution)

 
Article 7:

Amendments :: The ISUnix constitution may not be modified by anyone other than the UHACC Executive Board. This is because the ISUnix constitution exists merely for the satisfaction of RSO guidelines. Any constitution change that does not deal with RSO status should be made to the UHACC constitution, and may only be made in accordance with Article 7 of the UHACC constitution.
